What is on your seasonal cards, if any, this year?
My kids. I’m that parent.
I should have said, aside from graphics. By “nothing” I did not mean, a blank white card. I was more imagining a picture of a dove or a nativity or a menorah or something with a personal note on the inside / back.
I create my own Christmas cards and try to throw in a little humor each year with a combo of graphics/text.
I use more than one box, as well as leftovers from previous years. They will all mention Christmas somewhere, whether it’s Merry Christmas, or Blessed Christmas, or some other Christmas greeting.
Peace/Joy/Happy holidays for cards to my clients.
I’ll add personalised notes if I know someone is serious about Christmas (in a religious way) or Hanukkah or some other holiday that occurs around now.
Cards for friends and family (if I give them at all) are more personal and quirky.
I often use dorky photos of my dogs wearing Santa hats or wearing Christmassy-themed bandanas
on my cards.
I quit sending cards a few years back. At that point, I was just sending them to a few of my husband’s aunts who we never saw and two of whom I’d never met. Before that, I used to write the long letter - newsy, not braggy, since we don’t do much that’s brag-worthy.
So far this year, I’ve received 3 - and one of those was from a pet sitting service I used 6 years ago. I guess I don’t see the point any more.
Fascinating. So many people don’t send cards. Maybe I should quit.
