Yes comment necessary.
“There’s no shortage of original names for all the retail shops that line a stretch of Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, but there’s nothing quite like the ‘FUK U Lingerie - Love Shop.’”
Seems rather juvenile and stupid to me. The owner is currently out of the country and unavailable for comment but will return for the store’s grand opening.
The link goes to an article, too, not just a video. The video doesn’t appear to play automatically.
I was expecting something amusing in the video. I am disappoint.
The city isn’t able to regulate commercial sign content? Really?
Holy shit, there was a HUGE controversy here because a cheese shop had a plastic cow on its roof, which was contrary to city regulations. (But they were able to have the bylaw modified.)
I’m perplexed that there would be no existing bylaw in place in Hollywood. It’s NEVER come up before? Ever?
The councilman claims they can’t regulate a business sign?
Offensive words are always regulated. I can’t get a custom license plate that says FYou or BlowMe. It says right on the app form, no offensive words.
I’ve seen news reports of cops ticketing cars with filthy bumper stickers.
It’s not particularly witty or anything but at least it’s to the point. It’s a lingerie and sex toy shop, not Cartoon Cuts.
It’s just a fucking word. Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck. I don’t see how it’s any better or worse than other provocatively named establishments like Cluck U or Big Pecker’s, and they’re only selling chicken.
The state decides distributes the license plates and can choose whatever they want on it. The council does not regulate the content of signs. There’s something known as the First Amendment.
Perhaps, but there’s this First Amendment thing . . . .
Couldn’t get a direct video link to work. It really was more amusing on TV.
Lingerie shop you say. When I saw the sign my first thought was IRS field office.
