Holy Crap: Adobe CS4 Is Coming Out Already!

I haven’t even upgraded to CS3 yet.

I just got an invite to a panel discussing the new software - Dreamweaver CS4, Flash CS4 as well as the entire Create Suite CS4…supposedly the big announcement is scheduled for September 23rd, but the panel I am invited to attend is on the 27th. I don’t know when it actually goes on sale, but probably soon.

Although I have CS2 at home, I teach at a school that has CS3 and have not noticed many differences…certainly none that made me want to run out and spend the money to upgrade.

Now it looks like I am going to be hit with a double whammy, having to pay to go up two versions…but again, I am going to wait and see exactly what these “new, improved” versions contain before doing so.

I wonder if this means they are going to come out with a new version every year or two to suck more money out of the users? I mean, if they suddenly have some grand, holographic 4D whizbang features, fine…but if this is just another six or seven new buttons, what the hell?

So, is anyone excited about this new upgrade? Heard anything about the specifics?

I started using CS3 a year ago, but it was a huge leap for me as the last version I used of most of them didn’t have a “CS” in front of it.

I tend not to change to a single point upgrade, I usually wait a few versions, even if they have a really useful sought after feature, otherwise it gets unnecessarily expensive.
