Just moments ago, while trying to diagnose a customer drive I did my usual trick of plugging it into a USB external hard drive unit and using hard drive diagnosics from a shop machine.

no freaking wonder then thing won’t boot, probably almost half of the system files have some flavor of read problem.
The fragmented files graphic on win2K defag is just a red bar with 2-3 thin green lines scattered about. Guess I should be happy, people like this are my bread and butter.
