I jumped ahead when I watched it the other night, and the rest of the movie went along fine. Then I went back to check the other versions on the same scene.
Since it does just seem to be me and my disc with this problem, I’m considering now whether or not I want to brave another trip to the mall this close before Christmas to exchange it, or wait until after the holiday.
I always like to view different versions of films and how the changes alter the film in both large and subtle ways. For me, the Big Three that had notably different versions, which I wanted to have most on DVD in all their variations, were this, “Brazil,” and “Dune.” Now that all 3 are at last in my grasp, my movie-geek happiness is complete.
