Even comes with a little unicorn!
Yeah, I’m going to have to scrape up the money to get this one.

Thanks again for the heads up. I had planned on heading to Best Buy on Tuesday to buy the disc, but I’ve just ordered uber collection on Blu-Ray from Amazon. I can’t wait. I want to see the edition with the voice over again - it has been a long time.
But is the movie any good?
Pardon, but what is a “lenticular Motion Film Clip”? A frame from the movie footage? I’m googling this phrase, and mostly finding ads for the Uber-Deluxe Blade Runner Set or apparently unrelated hits.
ETA: ah, it seems to be like the little 3d pic on my credit card, a fake “3d” scene. Lenticular lens - Wikipedia
It’s started to be common for “Special Edition” DVD cases to have lenticular images, as a geeky collector bonus. They’re kind of funky, though ultimately meaningless.
Oh, yeah, baby. There’s one of these with my name on it. Merry Xmas from me to me.
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.
Is it coming to the UK?
I’m tempted by the cardboard sleeved five DVD set, but I love my copy of Forbidden Planet, with the tin box, extras and the Robby the Robot miniature.
You lucky bastards have been able to buy it since November, while we in the States (where the bloody thing was made) have to wait a few more days.
Does it come with a Sean Young replicant?
Well, I wanted to buy it but I couldn’t afford the gas to drive into town for it, does that make it better?
Okay, almost everything. She did, however, just do a TV movie, so I’d say you could probably hire her for about what the box set costs.
I just checked and mine is out on the truck for delivery.
I bought the Blu Ray set a few days ago, mostly because I wanted the original US theatrical release, which has never been available on DVD before. Picture quality is excellent.
I just purchased the 4-disc DVD box and watched the new final cut and all of the special features.
All I can say is WOW!
The image has been cleaned up and it looks beautiful. I can only imagine how great the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray versions look.
But what surprised me was the sound. It seems so much more detailed, clean, and full. They’ve really fleshed out the audio. Really great.
They also cleaned up all kinds of little nitpicks like the blue sky/dove scene, the visible wires, Zora smashing through the glass, etc… Very nice to see this.
The final cut really delivers.
Also included in the set are three other full versions of the film, and hours upon hours of extra features.
The extra features were also a pleasant surprise. Usually, I find extra features to be of low quality and serve as little more than filler. Not in this case, however, as thes are loaded with quality content and benefit from high production standards. They’re very compelling. Especially the film “Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner”: any fan CANNOT miss this.
I’m in love with this box set, they really hit one out of the park with this one.
As an aside, I really can’t understand those who don’t like this prescient, atmospheric, profound masterpiece.
Has anyone else who bought the “lunchbox” set had a problem with the disc that has the 3 versions of the film on it? In the director’s cut, at the scene where Pris is spray-painting her eyes, the image freezes then goes all pixilated. It’s happened 3 times. There’s a funny sort of “hitch” at the same point in the two other versions on the same disc, a sort of momentary pause, but then it goes on all right after that. I’ve checked the same scene on the final cut version, on a separate disc, and that’s fine.
I’d like to take the set back, but if this is a common fault and I’m just as likely to get another disc with exactly the same problem, it may not be worth the trouble.
That’s the layer change on a dual layer recorded disc. Nearly every DVD has that. (I’m guessing the different versions are using the same footage and seamless branching to create the variations).
That’s a serious problem, probably caused by a damaged disc. You should replace it, or skip that area and fast forward past it.
I have nothing to add except that our company was involved in the production of the packaging and after several miniscule nitpicky alterations, I’m starting to have flashbacks every time I hear the name Blade Runner.
Producers can be soooooo picky.
Hopefully it all looks really cool.
This is the first time I’ve watched it in about 15 years, and I didn’t like it when I first saw it.
And now I’ve watched the Final Cut, and I still don’t like it.
Seems very slow paced, with an ordinary plot. I can’t see the appeal.
I’m amazed.
