Holy Fuck, Illuminatiprimus!

Good thing I’m not trying to improve your estimation of me. OK, stay with me here. I’ll spell it out yet again. Let me know where you get lost so I can try to dumb it down further, m’kay?

Slavery=bad. Escaping slavery=hard/impossible/bad.
Serving while closeted=not as bad as slavery. Escaping gay service=easy/minor inconvenience.
Freedom from slavery= inalienable right. Service opportunity= not even close to inalienable right.

Got it?

Freedom not to be discriminated against based on sexuality - inalienable right. No? Oh, of course, I forgot that I was conversing with someone living in the medieval period. This really is a waste of my time.

That’s because you’re a fucking homophobe, you fucking homophobe.

What you’ve failed to do is explain why YOU should be in the service, with your delicate sensibilities, rather than a gay man who is mature enough not to care.

-or-

Slavery = extremely bad, in all ways.
Serving while closeted = major bad, has serious impact on life.
No gays serving at all = medium bad, has serious impact on army.
Getting glanced at in the shower = eeny-weeny bad, has transient impact on a very few individuals who should be told to grow up. Doesn’t really belong on this list.
Does that make it clearer for you?

Thanks for the response, and for your very enlightening posts.

Not wanting to shower with gay men, is pretty much textbook homophobia. The thing is, if you’re not a dick about it, then who cares? So you have a preference. Your preference is homophobic. So what?

One of the best Massage Therapists I’ve ever received a massage from is a gay man. It was fabulous. You should go for it.
