Holy poop! They said the S word on SNL

Cartoon Network is owned by Turner Broadcasting; IME, Turner stations tend to be more sensitive about blasphemy than other forms of profane language – at least in the past, you’d even have “damn” censored on some of their channels.

A&E’s pretty inconsistent. Last year in the Bates Motel thread, some people kept complaining about how A&E was censoring various swears, while other people, myself included, claimed there was no such censorship going on and the swears were intact. Turned out we were all right, it just depended on what time of day you were watching the show. I usually watched a later airing than people complaining of the censoring, but one weekend I caught a part of a rerun earlier in the day and indeed they were dropping out the swears.

This is sufficiently obvious that I didn’t feel the need to mention it.

I’ve heard a shit or three on broadcast tv. They were always 1) after 10 pm, B) immediately preceded by the words “bull” or “horse”, and III) NEVER referring directly to the stuff you wouldn’t want to pitch your tent over at the annual Boy Scout Jamboree.

Since I’m at an age where I don’t stay up late, even on Saturdays, anymore, I’d tape the show and fast-forward through opening credits. So I don’t even know who most of these people are unless their names were mentioned during the show.
