Molly Ivins has claimed often enough thatr Bush’s Spanish isn’t all that great, saying of one press conference that it was “so Spanish 101 it was painful” and that when he was on the campaign trail it was “the same two sentences, then cue the mariachis.”
I’d heard that George, Sr. was fluent in Spanish, and for some reason I’m more inclined to believe that.
