White Supremacists generally consider themselves as a member of a race which God has set above all others, and generally use Divine Providence to justify subjugation of others.
Where in the Bible can this belief be interpreted as God placing preference to Caucasians?
Probably nowhere, since none of the authors of the Bible (assuming they’re who they are supposed to be) would’ve been white. But that’s affording White Supremacists a measure of common sense I doubt they really have.
Well, it’s usually either done by the whole Shem, Japeth and Ham division (and the whole cursing of Canaan)…that was what was used traditionally to justify the enslavement of blacks, or, more recently, the association of the Jews of the bible, and the Lost Tribes of Israel, with white people, which comes out of British Israelism and is the basis for most of the modern Christian Identity movement, or some combination of the two theories.
From the 1920s through the '50s, white supremacists generally relied on pseudoscientific theories about the natural mental inferiority of nonwhite races – which were considered to be less “evolved” than white people. Lothrop Stoddard, author of the prewar book The Rising Tide of Color Against White World-Supremacy, actually wrote that the superior characteristics of white people were fragile, and destroyed by race-mixing, because they were relatively recent developments and “not yet firmly stamped upon the germ plasm,” I think were his words. Obviously, Stoddard had a sadly confused understanding of genetics and of evolutionary biology.
But American racial-religious movements such as Christian Identity reject Darwinian or pseudo-Darwinian evolutionary theories, and based their racism on a reinterpretation of Biblical creationism: In their view, Adam and Eve were not the first people, they were the first WHITE people; all other races were “pre-Adamic” – God’s experimental models, as it were, and made only to be slaves of the REAL people. Non-whites do not even have immortal souls; they are merely a kind of sentient animal. Jews are a different matter – Jews are, quite literally, the children of Satan. The Satan, in the form of the serpent, seduced Eve and she gave birth to Cain, ancestor of all Jews; white gentiles are descendants of Eve’s third son, Seth. Also, at some point (I’m vague on this part) the Jews usurped the title of Children of Israel, but the REAL Biblical Children of Israel are the white gentiles. ACCORDING TO THE SERPENT SEED IDEA- the Biblical Jews were not that Seed tho the Seed had infiltrated through intermarriage with the Canaanites aka Cainites. By the time of Jesus, the Serpent/Cainite element among the Jews had risen into the Establishment (hence Christ’s denunciation of them as “Vipers” and “children of the Devil”). The pure Israelite Jews either became Christians, so intermarried the Serpent-Cainite “Jews”, or were killed in the Roman Sieges around 70 AD so that few if any Jews today remain uncontaminated. Also much of the Jewish population are descendents of the Turkish kingdom of the Khazars who were thoroughly Cainite but converted to Judaism in the 900s AD. They are the Askenazic/East European Jews. Some Identity believers hold that the Sephardic Jews may be more representative of the true Israelite bloodline.
Btw, a lot of Identity folk see the whole “Serpent Seed” idea as utter crap & don’t like Jews because they rejected Jesus. ALSO, let it be noted that classical Anglo/British-Israelites consider Jews as full Israelite cousins. There is a branch of Messianic Jews also which believes that the Christian Church is the regathering of the lost tribes (I myself have some sympathy with that belief).
So these kooks are actually adhering to Gnosticism. Makes sense. Gnosticism underlies a great deal of modern wacky fringe movements these days.
A common Gnostic Christian heresy doctrine is that the Theotokos, the Blessed Virgin, was a mere “vessel” for the Son, that she was also not His mother in any meaningful way.
Thus, that is how one gets around that. Marcion did that more than a thousand years ago.
I remember an episode from the first season of Oz where a guy was telling the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood that Jesus was Arabian, so he would be dark-skinned. He opens his Bible with pictures of Jesus and crew and says, “Look at that picture. Does that look like a nigger to you?”
If I wanted to, I could misinterpret a few verses and proclaim myself the Second Coming of Christ[sup]TM[/sup] if I wanted. I don’t think there’s an underlying logic to any of it.
I don’t even think people anywhere had a clear concept of the existence of a “white race” until sometime around the time of Columbus. Not that people weren’t blind to physical differences between say an Ethiopian and a Viking , but I challene anyone to come up with anything written by an Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, or Medieval Christian…much less someone in Biblical times, that explicitly defines “race” in the modern sense.
It really wasn’t until Carolus Linnaeus and Johann F. Blumenbach in the 18th century that people really classified people along so called racial lines. Biblical people (Hebrews, Egyptians, and Phoenicians) probably would have classified ‘race’ in this way.
Us regular people.

Of course, all sorts of people probably mingled in ancient Palestine, where even today people range from white to black.
