The OP last posted on the SDMB in 2012, so probably did not do too much damage with his/her electrical tinkering in 2006.

Perhaps 2012 was the penultimate for the OP, but not for wesleyp.

I know, zombie, Buttttt…one possibility that I didn’t see mentioned, was installing LED bulbs instead of incandescent (or CFL). LED bulbs can glow just fine from leakage through older switches, especially the switches with a neon indicator to see them in the dark when off. This was especially true several years ago, before LED bulbs had drivers designed to attempt to prevent the problem, but the cheap, china WalMart LED’s still have that issue.
