So, I’m going on a cruise in a couple of weeks (yay!) and we were told that we should go to this site and complete a “FunPass” (“Satisfy all governmental information requirements”) Mkay, no problem.
So, you have to pick your reservation code and sailing date and whatnot. Then I have put in my full name, ssn, permanent address and phone number. Oooh-kay. I feel kind of icky now, but I put it in.
Next, you enter your full passport information. What? But I’ll have to show that when I sail, so no biggy. And I already gave all my personal info, so here ya go.
Finally, I have to enter in all the flight information for my flight home - airline, departure time, flight number, the works. What the hell is this?
I think this has something to do with CAPS II system they’re implementing - eventually, everybody that flies is going to be doing this (I’ve seen articles on The Register, but I can’t find them now)
For the record, I went ahead and did this, even though I hate it. I’m not angry enough to ruin my vacation to make a point. So besides non-complience, is there anything I can do to stop this ridiculousness? How do you guys feel about this?
