That was too technical for me. Both H2O and E=MC2, she must be really smart if she understands stuff like that.
I cannot believe that God uses or influences humans to use ineffective and/or dangerous quackery to treat disease.
I recognize that some people have a conception of a vengeful or mischievous god(s) who might do such a thing. There are also people who have harmful beliefs and prejudices which they attempt to justify by claiming that God endorses them.
Sad.
For those of you continuing to debate with kanicbird who apparently don’t know any better, please understand that she’s completely looney, and there’s literally zero chance of getting her to connect with reality.
Oh, I know the chances of getting through to this poster are nil. However, the idea that “natural” cures* are more spiritual/closer to God than nasty man-made Pharma drugs is quite prevalent in alt med circles. Some of these people might be persuaded to see the not only illogical but blasphemous aspects of insisting that God is in favor of health quackery that causes the sick to suffer.
Here’s an example of people who not only know that God is on their side, but apparently also endorses homeopathy to convert the sinful.
"The religious association, which calls itself the “voice of the Catholic medical community,” writes on its website that while “homosexuality is not an illness,” a host of treatments are available to keep such “inclinations” at bay. Possibilities include “constitutional treatments with homeopathic tools … such as homeopathic dilutions like Platinum”
Gotta love the term “homo-homeopathy” though.
*what is “natural” about a homeopathic remedy like Nux Vomica 30C is open to question.
**one wonders: if God endorses homeopathy, does this mean that people having such weak, heavily-diluted religious faith that it is completely undetectable makes them ultra-religious? In that sense, Der Trihs is probably the most devout, God-fearing poster on the Dope. :dubious:
How dare you speak about royalty that way! I apologize on his behalf, Princess.
Let this post by kanicbird serve as a warning to others who would otherwise wish to debate with her.
Speaking of warnings, how about a warning for calling another poster “completely loony” in GD? You can’t have missed it, it’s right there in the post you quoted.
This is a personal insult and not appropriate outside of the Pit. Don’t do it again.
This is turning into a hijack. The topic is homepathy, and your theories about love shoudl be discussed elsewhere.
How about a Warning for junior modding?
Czarcasm is not a Great Debates mod and the insult had already been reported to the Great Debates Mods.
If you see a problem, report it, don’t hijack the thread to get all huffy.
[ /Moderating ]
(No Warning issued in this instance.)
I wasn’t being huffy. And since when are mods restricted to moderating their own forums? That’s a brand new rule.
It may have already been reported, but it took more than 5 hours for Marley to chime in.
That is not “a brand new rule”. That is courtesy.
Only one person reported the post, and that was Czarcasm. If you saw the insult earlier, perhaps you should have reported it yourself. I responded right after Czarcasm reported that post (after taking time to read the rest of the thread). And we usually let everybody moderate his or her own forum - particularly since Czarcasm was involved in this thread as a poster. If you have any other comments or concerns, take them to ATMB.
