Back on subject, I have actually heard that theory advanced before, by my own father!! This was before I was out to him though. He no longer believes that and even considers my SO part of the family. I was the first gay person he ever knew personally in our tiny part of Idaho. (<2000 people in the largest county in the state, our nearest neighbors were 3 miles away.)
