Honest Mistakes

Is it legal for the manager of a convienant store to make a employee pay out of there pocket for a cash shortage that was merely a honest mistake??? If not how do I approach the situation and get my money back??? Desperate for a answer.

What exactly was this “honest mistake” you made that caused the cash shortage?


At the very least, the employee’s hourly compensation must be at least federal minimum wage after pay docking if federal regs are being followed.

But if that hurdle is cleared, I imagine it’ll depend on the terms of employment, which can vary from state to state, city to city, and company to company.
