Naples Daily News “Let’s Talk Food” columnist Doris Reynolds is suing the paper’s spiritual advice columnist for over $1 million, saying she was manipulated into writing the woman a $95,000 check as a “gift.” Reynolds says she first used fellow columnist Angela Passidomo Trafford as her spiritual adviser in 1996 and has paid her between $2 million and $3 million for [B/]the treatments**. Managing Editor William Blanton says he’ll continue to run both columns. [end excerpt]
You would think that you wouldn’t want to so aggressvely publicize the fact that you were so stupid. I hope the ‘spiritual advisor’ laughs in that woman’s face in court and then walks away.
She’s suing for $1 million over a $95,000 gift, but she’s perfectly happy with the other $2 million to $3 million she’s paid? I don’t even want to hear someone try to explain that.
Two to three million?! Geez, she must have a rich and stupid husband. I can’t imagine someone who wrote two books which “are available for sale in the lobby of The Naples Daily News”, according to the newspaper, could have accumulated that much.
This “spiritual adviser” is a real piece of work, too. From her column:
To be fair, the asker of advice was just as nutty:
She goes on to say that she had the mastectomy. Huh? I thought the diseased cells sprouted wings and flew away. Why would she still need a mastectomy? Are her shadow emotions still magnetizing anger or something?
Okay, so you willingly wrote this lady a check for $95,000 because you needed her “help”? Then you complain?
Take some responsibility for your actions for cryin’ out loud. It was your dumb move, so you pay the price now. That’s just sickening to me to see something like that.
The media claim they merely reflect divisions in society, and they don’t create the divisions. But when one columnist sues another, dividing society into the two groups supporting each side of the suit, isn’t that claim shown to be false?
