Was just poking around some websites (which I won’t link because they contain links to downloadable bootleg recordings). Not interested in the recordings but interested in the subject matter. Site A noted that it had gotten most of its recordings from Site B but had a few that Site B didn’t have. Looking at Site B there’s a note on it slamming Site A and saying they refuse to have Site A’s files on its site because Site A stole the files from Site B.

Who knew music pirates had ethics?

There’s a lot of “us vs. them” nature in humans. Any given group, whether it be for a good cause or not, in direct competition or not, is likely to disparage a group working parallel to their own.

I bet Site A owes Site B some money. $40, say, or maybe $20. Just enough to keep the blood boiling.

Site B and Site A may have been friends at some point, and it could be more about a violation of trust than any monetary damages.
