Just got done listening to Pizza Day by The Aquabats, which is a nostalgic look back at childhood and the joy of having pizza in the caf on Friday. It got me thinking-what golden moment of childhood bliss would you relive again if you could?
Myself, I’d take the incredibly fun, traditional midwest-to-California car trip my family took when I was about 7. It took over half the summer and included a dude ranch in Colorado, a week in San Fran, and of course, Disneyland (Lil’ Lucifer kept his hands over his face almost the whole way thru the Haunted Mansion, then immediately begged to go again :)).
What about you?
I would relive the last day of school, knowing summer was finally here- over and over and over!

Riding the miniature train at Look Park in Northampton, MA with my grandfather. I got to spend a week at my grandparents’ house every summer when I was a lad and, no matter what else we did that week, we always went to Look Park and he and I rode the train.
If any Western MA Dopers happen to know if that train isn’t running any more - don’t tell me.
Yeah, that’s a good one-practically a holy day on the kid calendar!
The only thing to compete with it was maybe Christmas.
Man, maybe I’ll become a teacher so I can have summers off again!
