Hooray! my personal hotspot is working.

Dying battery in the old phone and Verizonwireless phasing out the unlimited wireless plans finally moved me from my old justaphone to an iPhone.

I spent about three hours on the phone with Verizon, then Apple support trying to get the hotspot to transfer data to my PC. The PC would connect, the iPhone would serve it an IP, but no connection.

Finally I tried Kevbabes PC and it worked just like it aught to. Turns out the Atheros card in my netbook doesn’t actually work with the WPA2-PSK +AES encryption+authentication the iPhone uses. Works fine with TKIP.

I found an intel wifi card that fits the netbook on ebay for $10 and now I am in business…not only that but it is running the N standard so if Verizon could support it I’d have some awesome bandwidth.
