Horkheimer!

That’s the guy’s name! Dr. Jack Horkheimer! The “Star Hustler!” He used to host a little astronomy spot on PBS at like 1 AM, right after Doctor Who. “Some men hustle cards; he hustles stars.” Then later they inexplicably changed it to something totally generic like “Star Gazer.” He wore a horrible synthetic windbreaker no matter what the season. I used to do an impression of him that all my associates agreed was dead-on, even as they secretly pitied my inability to recognize the inherent worthlessness of a Dr. Jack Horkheimer impersonation routine. And yet for the life of me I have been unable to remember the man’s name for days. Ahhh god that feels good. Horkheimer! Hork… heimer.

How is it even possible to forget a name like Horkheimer?
Horkheimer.

He’s wearing a sport jacket in this one.

I like his mini-show, but growing up in the city it’s rare that I can see any constellations other than Orion.

If anyone’s interested in a trivial part of this trivial subject, the theme played is Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1

The change from Star Hustler to Star Gazer is definitely explainable. Try Googling ‘hustler’, but don’t do it at work. cite

I talked with him once on the phone years ago, as his planetarium was looking into buying one our shows.
