If a hospital patient is in a psychotic state, and they are being treated for a kidney problem, can a nurse ask them if they want to sign out against medical advice, (bc the nurse didnt want to deal with the patients psychosis is the reason why she wanted to get rid of the patient)?
The patient didnt know what she was signing, signed it and wandered out. Now she has something wrong with her kidneys bc this nurse had her sign out AMA
I would like to let the hospital know what this nurse did, I was a witness to it
It was obvious the patient was psychotic, they had to restrain her only an hour before the nurse had her sign out AMA and there were about ten people who witnessed the patient screaming about monsters in her room. She was not done being treated for her medical issues, they had an iv for her but the nurse got tired of hearing her yell.
Personally I think this nurse is in the wrong line of work, if she cannot deal with very sick patients in the ER , she should go get a job working in a spa or hotel resort instead. Hospital ER s are not a spa, if your a charge nurse in an ER in a major city you know there will be all kinds of trauma and drama. Shootings, car accidents, trauma, psychotic patients, etc etc . The lady needs to go work at a spa instead
