For a newer show: Claire and Jamie in Outlander had a lot of sexual heat going on. Lot’s of porn-light scenes that were pretty convincing.
While I never thought The Nanny’s Maxwell and Fran had any chemistry, C.C. and Niles were smoking hot, even before they got together.

I’ve heard it as a metaphor for class divisions. Samantha was from a family of old-money aristocrats. Darren had climbed from working class to middle class. He knew that the [del]inheritance[/del] magic would not last forever, so he wanted to make sure that their children knew how to work for a living.
The Wikipedia article says that the show writers made it up but describes some maneuvers that have since been given the same name. If you should happen to try one, please let us know the result.
As for that pairing, I remember hearing that the actors (Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepard from Moonlighting) did not get along in real life so the on-screen chemistry didn’t translate off screen.

So many of these series seem to be very old. I was looking to see if the OP specified any dates but I couldn’t see any.
So I would pick the lead couple from The Americans - Phillip & Elizabeth. To be specific, I never really cared about Phillip. But I had many sleepless nights dreaming about Elizabeth. She would have been much more sexy if she had spoken in a heavy Russian accent and said things like, “Dahlink”! “Kiss me Lovah”. So many other things she could have said.
I don’t know just what it is about Keri Russel. But I have always found her to be attractive in the extreme. If this was not a moderated board, I would have a whole lot more to say about Keri Russel.
