House 5/1
All true. My statement was a bit simplistic. It was still wrong to fake cancer to gain access to the resources of the drug trial.
Well, it was more than a “drug” trial, (required rather complicated surgery, etc) and it could be argued that the trial was un-neccisarily restrictive, but its pourpose was for “brain cancer” and not “pain treatment” - a pourpose that perhaps only House had pulled together from his research of it.

Secondly, his “faking it” did not, in actuallity, prevent anyone from gaining access to it (that actually needed it), so “wrong” is ambigous at best… wsa he gaming the system, absolutely.

This episode hit pretty close to home for me with the passing of my mother and her time going through a bone marrow transplant. I found it interesting that they used the 6 point scale at this point, for my mom we were at an 11 point scale for matching bone marrow. In any case, I did a lot of fast forwarding in this episode such as through Foreman’s bone marrow collection and such…

No, his ex, Stacy, said House was pretty much like that all along, before his surgery and the constant pain. It’s been suggested House’s personality may be a result of childhood abuse he suffered at the hands of his father, a Marine whom House has described as “having a strong moral compass” and who is played on-screen by R. Lee Ermey.
I think Stacy said he was a jerk before the thigh infection, but, nevertheless, both she and Wilso agree that he’s gotten enormously worse since his constant pain began. Moreover, he did get nicer (though still not nice) when the pain was gone at the beginning of the season.

“Hector Does Go Rug” is an anagram for “Doctor Greg House”.

And then House said something with “huge ego”, but all I can get is scrod rot huge ego and I don’t think that’s right.

He suggested using “Gregory House” instead of “Doctor Greg House” because it forms the better anagram “Huge ego, sorry.”

When I get home I’ll post a few other anagrams I came up with…

I like House’s anagram for his name better.

I don’t watch the show for the science or the accuracy of anything; I watch it because Hugh Laurie is freakin’ brilliant (and the guy who plays Wilson, whose name I can’t recall at the moment is no slouch, either). It also entertains the heck out of me to watch House do all the things that other, normal people would like to do but don’t.

I had hopes for Cameron developing some personality this season. I think she was on the path to get there, but she and Chase will probably just get married and have 2.5 babies together. And Foreman will be back - no one gets out alive.

Very true. Are you, or anyone else here, aware that Hugh Laurie played Prince George in BBC’s “Blackadder the Third”?

His early career consisted of doing ridiculous characters in broad British farce.
He’s British but his American accent on House is perfect.

Yep that has popped up in various points through the seasons and the forum posts

Uh, his role as the Prince Regent is the whole reason I even know who he is and why I started watching House in the first place. (Long time Blackadder fan, have the whole series on both VHS and DVD!)

He was also in Blackadder Goes Forth, btw.

I’m also a Blackadder fan. I didn’t recognize him on House until my brother pointed it out.

Was anyone else a little ooged by “It’s Tuesday, my day to remind you that I like you and want us to be together.” Drop it already, Chase.

I kept seeing the ads for House, back at the beginning of season one… and I would go “wtf!!! It’s Hugh Laurie, but he sound American?! what show is that??” so I added it to my TiVo and have been hooked ever since.

“And if you take the day off, I’ll restart it on Wednesday”. It’s definitely starting to get disturbing. I’m wondering if he’s going to be getting more and more obsessive. It does seem like they’re leading to something with it.

I guess I didn’t recognize him because it had been too long since I’d seen him on Blackadder, or maybe it was the lack of a wig and rouge. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve seen stills of him as the dad in Stuart Little–much geekier! And I’ve got to see some of the Wooster and Jeeves I hear the kids talking about.

I sure hope they are, because otherwise it’s just going to be irritating. Hopefully they’re leading up to a scene where she snaps and stabs him with a pen or something.

Yeah, she definitely didn’t seem at all swayed. Of course with all the obscure places they did it in the hospital and diseased patients’ houses, maybe she’ll be pregnant with a mutant baby. House will do fetal surgery and they’ll show a tiny claw emerging from the incision and latching onto his lab coat.

I can’t see them just dropping it at this point so it must be leading to something.

I was thinking that he’s going to end up doing something outrageous, but you may be right. She may be the one to snap.
