Seriously, a blonde Batman? A teen movie Wonder Woman? A pretty boy Aquaman?
And what is everyone’s obsession with Colin Ferrel as Superman? Nick Cage would’ve been closer fer chrissakes.
While I don’t want to turn this into a casting thread, my dream actor to play Superman has always been Bruce Campbell.
That’s where they could draw inspiration from the X-Men movies. Obviously, Superman, Batman & (perhaps) Wonder Woman would have the biggest roles in the flick. Flash, GL, Aquaman & J’onn J’onzz would be the supporting cast. In the same way that Storm (for example) really doesn’t have much to do with the actual story narrative arc of either X-Men movie, but she does have particular scenes in each movie where she struts her stuff memorably.
(As for Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and the other Justice Lameasses, etc., I’d say forget 'em, or at most stick them in the background a la “Jubilee” or “Kitty Pryde.”)
As for picking the actors: first off, Guy Pierce has dark-hair. He only colored it blonde for “Memento”. (Check him out in “L.A. Confidential” for his real Bruce Wayne-ish appearance.) Eliza Dushku is in her early 20’s. Brad Pitt doesn’t look too pretty with that long hair and shaggy beard he likes to wear (all I can think of when I see him is “Aquaman.”)
Once again, for my imaginery JLA movie, I was appling Bryan Singer’s “X-Men” approach to casting: get lesser-known (hence not as expensive) but competent actors in the flick. Hugh Jackman, you’ll recall, was an unknown before the first X-Men movie. Halle Berry hadn’t yet won her oscar, Famke Janssen, Ian McKellan, James Marsden weren’t household names Patrick Stewart was “that bald-headed Star Trek guy”, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was “that model who married John Stamos.”
Okay, Brad Pitt might be a bit pricey, but you gotta better suggestion?
Actually you’re right about Brad Pitt. I don’t know what I was thinking. He is actually one of my favorite actors but for some reason when I thought of him as Aquaman I immediately thought Tyler Durden when I should’ve been thinking Heinrich Harrer.
I’ve seen LA Confidential but I don’t remember Guy Pierce having black hair? I still don’t think he could do Bruce Wayne.

What we really need, though, is a movie about the Legion of Super-Heroes.
