That reminded me of this .
Here in Minnesota, hometown company General Mills had special boxes of Wheaties printed when the Minnesota Twins were in the World Series. In fact, at the last game, they had 2 trucks sitting outside the stadium. One had boxes of Wheaties labeled “World Series Champions” and the other labeled “American League Champion”. After the Twins won, the first truck was opened and the “World Series Champions” boxes distributed.
The other truck was quietly driven away. I understand it went back to the factory, where the boxes were opened, and the inner bags of Wheaties removed & sent back thru the line to be inserted in regular boxes. The special ‘losing’ boxes were supposed to be shredded & the cardboard recycled. But I expect some of them were ‘saved’ by people there; I think I’ve seen some of these boxes in circulation.
