What do they do with all the Patriots Championship hats and t-shirts?

I’m guessing both teams in any super bowl have t-shirts and hats made up stating they were the winners so when the game is over the merchandise is ready. What happens to the losing teams merchandise? Do they burn it? Recycle it? What?

Donate it to be given to people in developing countries who need clothes?

EDIT: Found an example.

I bet a good market could be made in selling them as framed trophies for Giants fans, for a vicarious moment like Harry Truman holding up the newspaper with the headline “Dewey Defeats Truman”. (Presumably with a big red NOT!!! screen-printed on the glass of the frame.)

Sweet. I’m off to Sierra Leone for my 2006 Bears Superbowl champions shirt.

A whole generation of African children have grown up believing that the Buffalo Bills were the greatest dynasty in football.

Imagine the culture shock when they find out the truth.

"What are we Ghana do with all these losing-team shirts?’

(snaps fingers) “I got an idea. Let’s send them all to Amatalia Watt-Amaghanadu. She’ll think of something.”
