I’d like to start a “Crbon credits” business, and an individual basis.
Heres how it would work:
-everybody gets an allotment of carbon/year, which translates into so many gallons of gasoline, heating oil, electricity, purchased goods, etc.
-people who use less than their allotments can sell their unused credits to me
-in turn, I will sell them to high-usage folks (like Al Gore, who uses hundreds of times the avaerage energy use of a US citizen)
-I take a small percentage of the sales for my trouble.
My question: how do I get a government grant to alunch by new venture?
I have a name all set: “Ralph’s Carbon Credits-Save The Planet”-whyddaya think?
Uh… you can start by donating a couple hundred million (or more) to your favorite politicians and get some legislation passed that would make the credits at all meaningful. Then get them to build the multi-billion dollar infrastructure that would support it. If it weren’t legislated and enforced through a system why would anyone buy them?
