I’m not sure whether you’re agreeing or disagreeing with the sentiment you thought I was trying to express. But it really is a fact–Abby’s style is not her own. There’s nothing about the way she dresses or decorates that is unique to her or represents a unique combination of elements from others’ styles. She fits directly into a certain contemporary style archetype.
I don’t criticize this–I don’t think most people who dress in her style claim to be trying to dress completely differently than anyone else–I just criticize the claim that she has “her own style.” She doesn’t.

IIRC, the robbers didn’t want the money. The take was a mere 27K and if they waited a day or two they could have scored much much higher when a big truckload of cash would have come rolling in. Also, they had little to no hope of getting off the base with the .

The entire caper was set up to kill the guard whose son screwed the gang on a huge diamond heist. He kept the gems (worth many millions, I think), so the plan was to abduct the fucker when he showed up at his dad’s funeral and then get the diamonds back.
Abby is a scientist, not a computer geek. Could Garcia outhack McGee?
Amen to that! With television overpopulated with “magazine-cover” female eye-candy, they prove that girls can be smart and sexy–indeed, that smart is sexy. Garcia has been my #1 TV crush since day one, and Abby…well, she’s Abby! And, Frylock, compared to most of the women in TV dramas, she does indeed have “her own style”.
I watch all the CSI’s, Criminal Minds, and NCIS. If their reruns were to be on simultaneously, I would choose to watch NCIS. Reality, hell! I love all the characters, they interact better than just about any crime-show ensemble, and the show’s humor is its saving grace. While I still love all the other shows, some of the plotlines are getting very depressing–Horatio’s wife and kid, Grissom’s breakup with Sara, etc. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having fun watching a crime show, and NCIS delivers, week after week. And if I were a crime investigator, I’d rather work for Leroy Jethro Gibbs than Horatio Caine any day of the week!
Channel 5 in the UK is currently re-showing the first season – episode 3 or 4 shows Gibbs and Abby using sign language, and it’s mentioned then. I don’t remember either of them signing in later seasons – have the writers just forgotten they can?
Another thing I noticed is that Pauley’s voice seemed a lot huskier in those days.
