The hackers have posted videos that would be used to train people in the redux Trump administration on how to implement Project 2025. They’re insanely creepy and… insane.
If you can’t win at one game, some would try to change the game to one with better odds.
Trump made a big deal out of challenging Biden to play golf. Harris probably does not play golf (but I have no idea, certainly less often than The Donald). Chess is probably out.
Perhaps a game of high-stakes Rock Paper Scissors?
From the Economist:In Atlanta Trump Is Playing With Fire. (Latest edition; posted Aug 12/24.)
Among the many odd moves Donald Trump has made since Kamala Harris swooped into the presidential race last month, one of the strangest came at a campaign rally in Atlanta on August 3rd. That night Mr Trump devoted 11 minutes of his speech to insulting Brian Kemp, Georgia’s Republican governor. He reprimanded “little Brian” for being “disloyal” by refusing to overturn Georgia’s election results in 2020. He said that under Mr Kemp’s leadership the state had “become a laughing-stock” and Atlanta a “killing field”, suggested that the governor was behind his criminal prosecution in Fulton County and accused him of “doing everything possible” to make Republicans lose in November.
Georgia Republicans swiftly came to their governor’s defence. “History has taught us this type of message doesn’t sell well here in Georgia, sir,” Brad Raffensperger, the secretary of state, wrote on X. Yet Mr Trump doubled down in a press conference on August 8th. Patricia Murphy, a columnist at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, summed it all up as a strategy for “how to lose a state in ten days”…
It wasn’t that long ago Trump was begging Congress to bail him out of his legal troubles. He’s whined about how mean and unfair the legal system and the media is to him. He’s been declaring his weakness for a while but the MAGA crowd doesn’t seem to mind for some reason.
I’ve said before that Trump is either going to be elected in 2024 or he’s going to crash spectacularly. He’s going to crash and in the process he’ll do as much damage as he possibly can.
Said another way, everything trump touches turns to shit. Which may be the whole USA, or it may mostly be trump himself. But shit it will be, thanks to him.
An ex-president doesn’t get the kind of protection a sitting president does, not to mention, trump doesnt listen to them, and trump wont pay for add’l local police protection. That doesnt mean that mistakes werent made, mind you. But there is a huge gap between a mistake and incompetence.
Yeah, I’ve never understood this. If Biden was able to steal an election from the sitting president in 2020, then… that president is a weak chump for not having seen and prevented that possibility, right? Pissing and moaning about every fucking thing isn’t a great look, one would think.
Perhaps it’s because he mirrors the resentment and self-perceived downtroddenness of his base that it works for him.
That said, I think complaining about crowd size and accusing the Harris-Walz campaign of deepfakes is different. The reason is that Trump’s rallies were a genuine sign of strength at one point, and now he’s being beaten at his own game. Plus, there’s strong crazy, and then there’s weak crazy. Trump has entered weak crazy mode, and I’m not sure there’s a way back out for him.
