I’ve been trying to sell a truck on Ebay for the past 2 months. I had to relist it due to a scam artist using the “buy it now” and ending the auction, then sending me an illegible email message. It cost me 43 dollars (the listing fee.) Now the current re-list auction is coming to a close and I fear that the winning bidder may also be a scam artist. I am not keen on being ripped off for another 43 dollars. I’m also sick of Ebay’s automated unhelpful customer service system. I want to talk to an Ebay rep on the phone about getting refunds for my listing fees. How do I do this?
This site contains the following two toll free numbers:
1-800-322-9266
1-888-749-3229
Don’t know if they are any good though.
Can’t get you a phone number, Argent, but did you ever try the unpaid item process I mentioned in other thread? If he never paid and you submit an unpaid item request, the system should automatically refund the $43 for you.
Whoops, sorry. That gives you back the final value fee and not the listing fee. Normally, your first listing fee would be refunded the item sells the second time, but I don’t know what will happen if the second one is a scam as well.
I want to thank you for that gethuman website. It’s one of the most defiantly subversive concepts I’ve seen in a long time. I’ll make sure to use that whenever posssible.
It turns out that the current Ebay bidder is in fact a legitimate buyer and not a scam. But for future reference, the numbers are very helpful.
