How can I find out if it's legal to fly a big-ass rebel flag in my city?

This idea has become popular on the internet in recent years, but it just isn’t true.

I won’t hijack the thread over it, but didn’t want to let it pass unremarked.

As it’s a little hard to cite the millions of confederate flags I didn’t see before the Civil Rights Act of 1957, and as this would perpetuate the hijack, fine.

Call Al Sharpton.

That’s just wrong, unless the neighbor has done something really bad to the OP.

You want to start a thread, I’d be happy to discuss the pre-civil-rights-era history of the Confederate flag as a symbol of the South. With plenty of examples.

Note that I am not defending flying the flag. Just disputing the historicity of your claim.

[Moderating]

If you guys wish to discuss the history of the flying of the flag, I think it would be an excellent idea to start a GD thread on it.

Once again, this thread should be restricted to the legal aspects of flying the flag at present. Other aspects should be taken to the Pit or GD.

Thanks again.
