How can I kill calibri?

Wouldn’t it be * Comic Cans* ?

Bump

Though it’s being done for the wrong reasons (Some studies suggest that sans-serif fonts, such as Calibri, are easier to read for those with certain visual disabilities) If the state dept doesn’t want it there is at least some hope it’ll die a slow, painful death.

I’m so glad Little Marco is devoting his attention to the issues that truly impact Peace in Our Time. This administration is truly stunning in its stupidity.

This didn’t age well.

You can’t fully delete Calibri because Windows treats it as a core system font, but you can force apps to stop using it.

A quick fix is to install another font and set that one as your systemwide default through the registry. People usually switch to Arial or Tahoma. After that, update the default templates in Word and Excel, then clear the Normal template if it keeps reverting. Wordpad will still fall back to whatever Windows sees as the system UI font, so the registry change matters most there.

It won’t remove Calibri from the machine, but it stops Windows from picking it for every new document.

I too wonder why sometimes my laptop imposes fonts on me without warning and against my will. Even when I try to reset it, it will impose the new font again.

I quite like the font, though my go-to in Software dev environments is Firacode because it supports ligatures. (!=, ==, &&, etc)

I write documentation in Calibri, though.

(I am friends with a bunch of graphic designer type nerds, and a common game is to point out some sign, or menu or whatever, and say “what the font”?)
