I got a 60-day notice of lay-off by my company and am wondering how I can use that to my advantage…
For example, I owe back taxes to the US and state (California) govt…I wonder if I can use it as leverage somehow on a reduced lump sum settlement.
Also, my son will be applying for state and other grants for college financial aid and perhaps I can use the sudden impending reduced income for increased benefit.
I’m tired of paying the state and the feds so much money in taxes and whatnot…What kind of benefits can I get from the same entities that the poor people get (besides Unemployment money)?
What about private or non-profit organizations…Any that I should contact while I’m unemployed or in anticipation of unemployment?
