Nah, don’t be silly. Nobody’d pay 15 bucks a year just to… wait a minute…
Since you’re looking for opinions, let’s move this to IMHO.

I’m assuming the OP wants suggestions that are wholly within the law.
The Amazon Mechanical Turk website (www.mturk.com) is an easy way to earn money; trouble is that although it’s easy, it’s not a lot of money, still you can earn a few dollars.
Apart from that, and unless you can come up with a new idea of your own (and lets face it, nobody is going to hand you their new moneymaking idea on a plate, are they?), it’s gonna be eBay, probably; look for something that you can get cheap or for free (but legally), that people want to buy, or are prepared to pay you for the trouble of getting it to them - I found a good source of something like that recently, but I’m not going to tell you what it is, or else I’ll have even more competition than I do right now.
That Mechanical Turk website is so addicitive. I never worked for pennies like that, not even when I was 5!
I made about 60 dollars in my first month, but then had trouble spending it; you can’t transfer it to GBP, and more or less everything on the Amazon US website is prohibitively expensive (or just plain prohibited) to ship to the UK. I exchanged delivered goods for PayPal with an American member on jjimm’s NADS board, but I still have 11 dollars in my gift certificate balance that I don’t know what to do with.
I worked out a few ways (completely within the rules) to exploit mturk to maximum effect; these are:
-Unless you’re an experienced professional typist forget transcription of podcasts; it will take you at least five hours to transcribe a one-hour recording (because of all the rewinding).
-Look out for big batches of HITs that are going for 3 cents (or 2 or 1 even) - some of these can be performed really quickly with just a glance and a single click - “are these books the same or different?”, for example.
When I got into the swing of it, I could do ten or more of these per minute (10 x 2c x 60mins)= $12 per hour, which isn’t too bad.
-Click the ‘automatically accept next HIT’ checkbox - this saves a few seconds of decision/loading, and prevents all that wasted time when someone else takes the HIT while you’e thinking about it.
-Don’t ever spend any time puzzling over a HIT, or researching it on Google or anything (unless it’s a high-reward task that requires you to do so); just skip/return it and move on to the next one, which will probably be easier.
Are we allowed to post links here? I have links for some companies that allow you to work at home. I’ve known a few people that have done it, some with more success than others.
The major complaint seems to be not getting enough hours. One of the women I know said you can’t be on dial up and have to have a phone that can be excusively for work.
She had a couple of phone interviews and an online test or something and was hired. Some of the companies send you the software you need and some I don’t think you really need anything.
A few of the companies you take orders for things sold on T.V. Some sort of diet aid and things like that. Some is customer service type thing. If you can do medical transcription there are lots of online jobs available.
I post on another forum where there are a lot of stay at home moms looking for a little extra income. Two of the women that post on the board do Tarox readings, like 35 hours a week. Another woman on the board works for an adult text messaging company. It’s difficult to get in she said, but they pay well.
A lot of work-from-home schemes are scams or are heavily weighted in favour of the company running them (i.e. they get to arbitrarily reject the network cables you sat all night terminating, when in fact they are quite OK and will in fact be used/sold by the company). But if you have personal experience of work-from-home schemes that are legit, I don’t think you’ll get into trouble for posting links here (although probably best not the adult hotline ones).
OK, am I secretly on drugs or what? This thread says it was just started today, but I could swear I already read this thread several weeks ago. I remember several specific comments, like the “gold farmer” one.
Is it just me having some weird late-night deja vu?
No.
There is no “easy” way to earn money anywhere.
I have discovered a truly marvelous method of making easy money that this post is too narrow to contain.
Yes there is.
- Start with a million dollars.
- Invest that million dollars in a broad portfolio of stocks, etc, etc.
- Profit!
But first you’ve got to catch that rabbit.
(bolding mine)
Which isn’t easy. Case dismissed.
