If anyone could help, it would be appriciated. I REALLY need to know. Thanks guys!
Do you mean like a screen capture–or do you want to actually reformat it from Real Media into an animated GIF?
I forget whether or not RealPlayer has a screen capture device built in. If not, the longest, but simplest way to do it is to just have the video file playing on the desktop, then take a screen capture with the ‘Print Screen’ button.
Then ya open it up in Microsoft Paint, crop the area with the video clip, and then save it. You can configure it to different formats from there. (It saves by default as a windows BMP)
I don’t know if there is a way to turn an RM into an animated GIF. The RM format algorhythm is owned and copyrighted by Real Media themselves.

Actually, Realplayer won’t let you do a screen grab-- You’ll just get black where you’d expect the image to be.
I needed a screen grab from a real-player file once and had to record it with my vcr, and recapture it to defeat the damned thing. Bummer.
You can do it with Paint Shop Pro. I saw your post, tried it, it works.
