How different would the world be if the oceans were filled with gravy instead of water?

Would we transport it on land via Gravy trains?
Specifically what kind of gravy? Traditional Italian Sunday gravy?

We would all roux the day.

*Deadliest Catch *would suck even more.

Bolding your qwote hehe
I saw what you did there.

Pastafarianism would be the predominant world religion, and the above would be the creation story – in particular, the part about life being seeded here by the arrival of a giant meatball.

Hang on. Is gravy a non-Newtonian fluid? I think it is.

If that is the case, then the answer is: We could walk on it. No need for those pesky boats anymore.

That would be pretty awesome.

Let me buy you a drink and discuss this.
We have an opportunity to make some serious money here.

All good. But was it wrapped in bacon?
Otherwise they are heathens from outer-space.

The Commercial Islands.

Hey, I’ve read the Bible; I thought life on Earth WAS started by a giant meatball.

You’d have to wait for the skin to form.

I could become quite fonde of sailing.

Someone would be be starting a thread musing about a world with oceans made of water. Our brightest dopers would be explaining the fluid dynamics and the impact on the weather.

But since we’re stuck with this gravy, at least picnics are tasty when it rains.

Noodles anyone?

As usual, Dopers jump in and attempt to answer without enough facts. What kind of gravy oceans are we talking here - giblet, redeye, sausage, chicken, mushroom, onion, brown, cream? It makes avast difference, matey.

And how do you get the lumps out of that much gravy: outboard motors?

Fathers (or mothers) would go to the beach with their young children, gesture to the horizon and say, “Kids, from here on out, it’s gravy!”

You’ve apparently never been to the south.

Well, gravy is one of the primal elements:
