How do I get dried up sticky soda off my CD?

Much to my chagrin, I found this mysterious sticky substance all over my treasured Killing Joke “Pandemonium” CD. It looks like soda, could easily be beer as well. Egads. :eek:

How do I get this off my CD without damaging it?

Soak for a long time in tepid slightly soapy water. No hot water. No strong cleaners.

Let time to the work, avaoid rubbing as much as possible.

Yeah, CDs are waterproof as long as they don’t have paper labels on them. Slightly warm running water ought to dissolve dried soda or beer right away. Soap shouldn’t hurt it, either.

Thank you. I FINALLY got around to cleaning it off, and yep you are 100% correct, it was very, very simple; run it under warm tap water. I then patted it with a paper towel. Took like 15 seconds. No soap needed.

I think it’s cool that CDs are waterproof. How sad am I.
