How do I get rid of a mole?

Hm. I expected mole eradication from DrDeth.

Where can I get nematodes? Local garden centre?

I seem to remember my parents having this problem down in Florida. A neighbor suggested pouring vinegar down the mole holes.

It appeared to have worked, Lord knows why.

My parents have a wind-up mole vibrator that they use to protect a few flowerbeds in their garden with - wind up, stick into the soil, and it gives a short rattle every few minutes. I don’t know whether his has been scientifically validated. It might be a coincidence that there have not been new molehills in the vicinity.

“Wind-up mole vibrator”? Oh, my!

As k and ye shall receive

In New England, where I live, I had this problem when I bought my house. I went to the local Agway store ( www.agway.com ), and they sold me a product called “Milky Spore.” It’s a spore. (obvious from the name. )

The basics of putting it down are simple…

Grab a teaspoon, put a teaspoon worth every 3 feet in a grid around your lawn.

Milky Spore kills the grubs. If there are no grubs, the moles don’t have anything to eat. If they don’t eat, they go away.

This is similar to the nematodes mentioned above.

Hope this helps…

Oh, and in the killing of the grubs, it reproduces… theoretically one application ofspore is good for 20 years.
