How do I interpret this auto check result?

I ran a check on a 2006 Honda Civic. How do I interpret the results below? Was this car put up for sale at two different auctions? Is that good, bad, irrelevant? Also, if a car was a lease vehicle, is that necessarily bad?

Here’s the auction info:

07/12/2006 CARLISLE, AR 42 Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE (Title #:43010603136)

Everything looks fairly normal until the 01/22/2008 entry.
Mileage on 01/22 37,679
Mileage on 07/17 37,434
Difference 245
This car only put on 245 miles in 6 months?
Leased vehicles are fairly common, and two auctions is not necessarily a flag, but 245 miles in 6 months make me go :dubious:
Something is not adding up for normal usage.

Could it have been sitting on a dealer lot? Could one dealer have bought it, couldn’t unload it, and put it up for sale at another auction where the Omaha dealer bought it?

Of course, this makes me wonder why in almost a year no one wants this car. (Please plesae please let it be the economy… )

Disturbing coda to this experience. Went to check out the car, which was at the Lexus dealership (and which has a good reputation). No Buyer’s Guide sticker, and no Buyer’s Guide sticker on several cars I saw. I should have walked away right then.

As it was, the mileage was over 38,000, not 37,720. Plus stains on the seats. Dirty. Weird sticky film on the plastic guard over the odometer… cat hair… worn steering wheel.

Didn’t even drive the thing.

Well, that explains the only 285 miles in 6 months. :smack:

I would guess this. Sometimes for no good reason at all a car doesn’t sell at one dealer, but will sell quickly if moved to another.

That may not be the case with this car. If it was being shown dirty the whole time, no wonder it didn’t sell.

BTW, its a violation of federal law (FTC Used Car Rule) to not have the Buyer’s Guide posted in a car if it is offered for sale. Cite. There is an $11,000 fine to the dealer for each separate violation.

I know! I couldn’t believe it! I’d expect that at Joe’s Used Car Shack, but not at this dealer. Anyone know how I can report this?
