How do I keep my All-Stars clean?

I recently acquired my first couple pairs of Chucks - hi-top black and a much girlier low-top brown and blue. I adore them and get lots of compliments on them. However, they’re starting to get scuffed up and I can’t seem to get the scuff marks off. I would like to keep them as nice as possible for as long as possible, since I do work in an office and since I’m still harbouring guilt for letting my last pair of Docs go to absolute crap. My husband also wears Chucks, but cares not for how beat up they get, and goes through about four pair a year. I’d like to avoid that, if possible.

Industrial hand soap works wonders on shoe cleanup. The little towels saturated with hand cleaner are really the perfect shoe cleaner. You can get both kinds at any auto parts store.

I just needed to ask someone else, as husband’s only response has been “I don’t know, I never clean mine.”
