How do I purchase cola products from a soda wholesaler?

I buy a lot of soda.

A whole effing lot of soda.
I would say that I buy (and drink), easily, more soda than is sold by many small retailers.

So I thought to myself (as opposed to someone else?) “Why not cut out the middle man, and buy some cola for dirt cheap directly from the… well… whoever the hell the local merchant buys it from”.

Since there were a lot of “…” in that last memory quotation, I thought that I would come to the drunken, horny, and funny masses of the “Something Awful Message Boards ©®™№йץض” for their help.

Where exactly do I purchase large quantities of carbonated liquid refreshment at low-low wholesale prices?

Ok. I screwed up and hit reply before I edited this post for this particular forum. Please forgive me and my, uh, stupidness.

You have any of those wholesale clubs where you are? Like Sam’s Club or Costco? You can buy soda by crates of 48 there if you want.

To get real wholesale stuff, you usually need to be a genuine business with an EIN and a sales tax exemption certificate.

Well if I drank that much soda, I’d start with a soda fountain, but I’d construct it myself and get a better price.

From there, you can probably get the syrup from a local distributor.

Ein?

I guess that would depend on whether or not you stick to ein brand or not.

Ohhhhh. E.I.N. = (Employer Identification Number) A unique number assigned by the Internal Revenue Service to every employer in the United States for the purposes of identification. Similar in purpose to the Social Security Number assigned to individuals.

If you go the fountain route, I don’t think you’ll need one to buy syrup and CO2 from the local distributor. If you’re talking pallets of bottles, then you’d probably need one to demonstrate to the wholesaler you’re worthy (read: a retailer).

Call up your local bottler and ask if they sell to the public. Look in the phone book under “Pepsi” or “Coca Cola” or whatever company it is that owns the beverage you drink. I did this once a few years ago and they told me they’d be only too happy to sell me as much pop as I wanted. So I drove my car up to their warehouse, got them to forklift out as much Crush Cream Soda as would fit in my trunk and backseat, paid them, and drove away with a year’s supply of the stuff.
