How do I set my CD-Rom as my first priority boot device?

Pretty self explanatory. I need to do a repair, and I’ve been told to do this. Cheers.

In the bios settings.

Watch as your system cold boots. Look for the moment when you see on-screen to press a single key (F1?) or a key combination to bring up the bios settings. You should be able to change the boot order preferences.

This is set in the bios. When you boot there’s a magic key to get into the bios, maybe Del, F2, or whatever, it should tell you. Then in there will be a list of boot priority devices: best is probably CD, floppy, hard disk.

I never see it on this computer. It’s a 2.4ghz and it runs through too fast.

Do you know what kind of motherboard you have? Most of the time it’s the ‘del’ key, but if you tell us where you got your computer we might be able to figure out what it is.

It’s ok. I just pressed all of them and did it. But it didn’t fix my problems.
Does anyone have any solutions to this? When I start up windows media player I get this error. “'The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not
be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL” I tried to repair it with Windows XP but it won’t repair because it says it’s in the process of upgrading. Cheers.

Try downloading and installing the update again. It may replace the file you’re missing.
