Now the word of caution (somebody had to ruin this party):
The more complex and detailed your wallpaper is, the more resources needed to keep it up there. The result: slower computer. Keeping wallpaper simple, with as few colors as possible is a simple trick to keep a slower computer up to snuff. If you have a 1GHz processor or a 32MB video card, then it probably won’t matter much.
Yup, I remember reading about that and telling a friend to take it down because her computer was too slow. I never liked having wallpaper anyway, but knowing it uses resources is another reason not to have it. I have a nice collection of photos I like to look at once in a while but I just open them when I want to see them. Which reminds me of something I have always wanted to do which is a slide show but I will start another thread for that.
I got a ATI All in Wonder video card. You can connect a camera to the computer & have whatever it sees as your desktop. So, you could put the camera in the baby’s room & monitor it live all the time on the computer desktop. awesome.
