How do short people avoid slipping while soaking in a bathtub?

A grab bar may help. A short tub, well OK if you are not considering resale value. But really how short are you, most people enter the tub from the side, so all they will slip upon entering is to the wall on the other side, it appears you are entering the long way, but how much would a shorter tub really help there?

You could have a bathtub grab bar installed or buy one that hooked onto the bathtub but you need to made sure it put on tightly . I run water in my tub before putting my bathmat down this keep it from slipping . The suction cups stick better when the tub is wet . I never see bathmats with no suction cups . I would love to have a walk in tub b/c my balance is bad .

I’m fairly short too (5’4") but I’m having trouble understanding the problem we’re trying to solve. How does your feet not reaching the end of the tub pose a problem that wouldn’t occur if your feet did reach the other end?

They probably slide on the tub floor so instead of stabilizing their body and stopping the sliding with their feet, they need a suggestion to for a replacement

Do bath mats typically slip? Isn’t the whole point of them that they don’t? I mean, I understanding soaking in the tub you put more lateral pressure on them, but I’ve soaked in many tubs without the bath mat slipping. But all the mats have had suction cups on them, I believe.

I’d get a rubber coated diving brick or two and set them between your feet and the end of the tub. They sink and they’re soft enough on the bottom of your feet.

That is seriously a good idea!

The item I miss most from Abuelita’s flat was one I used very rarely: a 2.5m-long tub. Being able to lie down in it completely was its coolest feature, from the point of view of us kids. From the point of view of the grown-ups, that it allowed simultaneous washing of several children. I’m happy to report that none of us fell down. That tends to be more of a problem for people with bad mobility than for short ones.

TMI.

Short people got no reason to bathe.

Take a bath with a friend and hang on to them.

Shower instead.

I’ve heard that those spontaneous drownings happen all the time - the problem is, those drownees are no longer here to tell us about it.
