As for the teacher in question-she shouldn’t have posted it, because the internet and people being what they are, someone was going to recognize her and spread the word eventually. Should she have lost her job? IMHO no, as long as the porn in question is “moral” i.e. consensual, no minors, etc. But at the same time, she knew the place she worked and her co-workers.
Thinking about “homemade porn” led me to do a search for “artisanal porn” and I’m not at all surprised that it’s a thing.

You say that because it’s just school teacher porn it’s nothing too outlandish or gross or dangerous or kinky it’s just mainstream teacher porn.

I am well aware of that. It is a point I brought up every time someone said he was impeached for a blowjob. But the point remains many people think it is fine for a married President to get oral sex from an intern (btw: that would get any CEO fired in the corporate world) but a teacher can’t do porn on their own time because THEY have been appointed as a role model.

So it’s certainly possible that people did in fact disapprove of Clinton’s conduct and wanted him removed (to be replaced by Gore) at that time. Because Clinton had served his purpose.
We typically only have two choices when voting. Politicians have impact on reproductive rights among many other things. There are many considerations in voting (which is the primary way that any of the rest of us get to have impact) that play into that choice.
Politicians and the voting habits of constituents bear no comparison to a local school teacher. The school teacher isn’t going to be replaced by a school teacher from another political party that will make vastly different decisions. The new teacher will also be under the control of the school board, local constituents, etc. Your comparison is irrelevant.
I’m pretty vanilla in regards to sex. Friends do things I wouldn’t choose to do, including some fairly extreme (from my POV) things. I’d never tell one or more consenting adults that they shouldn’t do something all parties involved wish to do.
I do not know if we should go so far as to claim the public expects politicians to be scumbags, in particular lying scumbags, but for sure nobody thinks or expects them to be role models. However,
indeed that part was definitely not cool. OTOH if Bill (or the CEO) had sex with a bunch of mistresses who did not work for him, that would fall under the category of his own private affairs and not grounds for firing.
I wonder if, instead of Onlyfans, the teacher and her husband chose to augment her meager income by brewing and selling beer. Although, unlike amateur porn, that clearly is illegal in Missouri, would she still have been fired, and would people be panicked that some of the beer could have made its way into the students’ hands?
Given that alcohol is restricted from minors, I am perfectly fine with a school board stipulating that a teacher not have dual employment in that particular industry. So I would agree with a school firing a teacher that was concealing such employment, and for the school stipulating that you could not be working in that industry.
I’d be fine with a musician performing in a band also being a teacher, because although they often perform in venues where alcohol is sold, alcohol isn’t necessary to enjoy the performance.
Let’s get back to an aspect of this actual case. Keep in mind that the teacher in question here appeared in these porn videos with her face obscured. What does that tell you. She was selling views of her body to men who were pleasuring themselves. Now if she was performing in a band, I don’t think she’s going to perform with a bag over her head. And if it’s a small scale thing, with no stalker-type fans, I’m sure she’s fine with this being a part of the complete, public, her, and talking about her music with men and women and children that enjoy the music.
Whereas with what she was doing I’m guessing she doesn’t want to meet ANY of the men (it’s going to be almost exclusively men) who are enjoying and paying for the videos. Prove me wrong there. So she tried to do this anonymous thing, show just her body so these anonymous men could pleasure themselves and pay her for providing viewing access to her body performing sex acts, and her cover was blown.
I don’t know anything about Onlyfans other than what I’ve read here, but I was speaking more about the students’ experiences as consumers.
Again, I’m speculating here… I don’t actually know what the limits are, and don’t care to find out, but I’ve heard of things that sound unhealthy. Maybe they’re not real, I don’t know.
