How do you adjust to not being in charge anymore?

I’ve taken a new job in a non-management role after finally having had enough of Electronics Retail and moronic, angry, or just plain old fuckwitted [del]peasants[/del] customers.

The pay is a bit less than my old job, but I’m doing fewer hours and there’s a LOT less stress, which is making me reasonably happy for now.

But it’s hard adjusting to the fact that I’m not in charge, and even though that means most things are Somebody Else’s Problem, I still find myself feeling a bit disconcerted about the situation sometimes.

Anyone else been through a similar change and got some advice they can share?

I’ve been in-charge and then not-in-charge of volunteer organizations, but I’ve never figured out how to not feel like I’m responsible for things. I hope someone has good advice because I need to hear it too.

Congratulations on your marriage!
