How do you break through the Trump Party Epistemic Closure, and is it even worth trying?

We just saw the most dishonest, fact-free RNC in history (and that takes some doing after 2016). But is there any chance to pick off some Trump voters for Biden?

Every point that is made has a built-in counter, like the pre-programmed Trump robots that they are. If you post a link, it’s “fake media”. If you point out that Republicans have left the party, it’s “Good, they were RINO’s anyway. Drain the Swamp”. If you point out the people from within his own admin turned against him due to his corruption, it’s “They’re Deep State”. There’s no way to break through this defensive posture.

This is all the Republicans have left, plus of course the racial appeals. But it’s very effective in keeping the sheep in the fold.

All the pre-programmed Republican counters to the facts would dissolve in an instant, if:

  • Donald Trump replaced every white man in his cabinet with a black man. Yes, even Ben Carson.

  • Donald Trump divorced Melania and married any random black woman.

  • Donald Trump started attending, each and every Sunday, a service (socially distanced, of course) of a branch of the A.M.E. Church–with plenty of photos of him socializing with the congregants.

All the excuses for Trump and his corrupt Administration would melt away like ice on Hell’s KKK parade grounds.
