Most of the lower end bikes (including huffy, magna, murray, etc) are all owned by Pacific Cycle now. You get what you pay for. Again, as someone else mentioned, the type of bike you buy should be tailored to what the child wants to do with it. If they want to jump ramp and do “stunts”, then a spend the extra money now and get a decent bike from a bike shop that is designed to do this… or you can wait until the bike breaks upon landing and your child gets out of the ER with stitches and cries about thier broken bike… I have seen it before…
I had two bikes growing up, a dirt bike to start on and a 10-speed when I was big enough for one.
I was lucky enough that Dad got these from the local guy and they were quality bikes that lasted. All my other friends fathers got them Huffys and Kents from Sears. It seemed like they were replacing the bikes every year or so cause they were crap.
