I’m not even sure if this counts as irony, but I would appreciate help in explaining/describing the following situation.
In this cartoon script I’m working on, one character is a very old person. He is stereotypically hard of hearing. One of his generic gags is to ask someone to repeat themselves, which they do, and then he shouts at them for yelling at him. I know, quality stuff, right?
First: What is that kind of a “joke” called? (Other than completely unoriginal)
Second: The follow-up to this sequence is for the two people talking to him to exchange looks. You know what kind of look I’m talking about, but I’m having trouble thinking of how to express it to my Korean team lead and illustrator.
Anyone got a suggestion?
