So–I log into an FTP server & see files that I can download, with creation date/time stamps. Is there a simple way to find out what time zone the time stamps are?
Some FTP servers will print the local time in their welcome message. I don’t see any FTP client commands available for checking the time on the server.
Yeah, I don’t think there’s anything in the FTP protocol to tell you the timezone.
What you might be able to do is create (upload) a file and then immediately look at the timestamp it gets. This may or may not work, I’ve never actually tried it.
:smack:
That worked, thanks. Timestamp shows the upload time, not the time the file was created on my local file server, so it looks like that got me the info I needed.
